Along with all the normal craziness of day to day life, spring and fall are always busier times. Mom and I do several seasonal consignment sales and the last of those were dropped off this week. With that being done I am working like crazy getting things together to send to a boutique in Texas. This is a new venture and I'm really excited about that.
For other new things I am doing a give away in conjunction with this blog:
http://polkadotreviewsandgiveaways.blogspot.com/
She has great giveaways on her site so check it out.
In all of this business I have found a new addiction, hooded towels. Noah is quite fond of this addiction as well.
I'm trying to expand my offerings so I've been working on several other new things. I have a lot of fun with the bloomers and am looking forward to doing more of these.
Noah's going to have to have a pirate shirt with an N on it but I am a bad mommy and have run out of shirts in his size, so that will have to wait until tomorrow.
Somewhere in the middle of all this Noah did manage to get a Saint Patrick's Day shirt, which being mother of the year and all I forgot to take a picture of him in. I forgot in the morning and when he came home he had green hair, green icing on his shirt and tattoos all the way up his arm. Add on top of that he had been sick for 4 days and it was a beautiful day so he was covered in dirt. Somehow he didn't look nearly as cute by the time he came home.
Looking at all this in one place makes me feel a little better about things. Oh well we have big plans in the morning pending mother nature, so off to bed I go, have a great weekend everyone!

Just one of those days!
When everything just stinks!
I hate it when the best laid plans are just foiled by no means of your own. Today is just one of those days more so than any I have had in quite a while. Wake up on time, get in the shower all seems well. Get out of the shower and start getting ready to face the day and see a massive pile of dog poop in Noah's room. Clean that up, find where we forgot to put down a pad for the cat who has randomly decided that once a day she likes the laundry room floor better than the litter box. So of course then get to clean up cat pee. Go back to continue on with our normal plans and where the dog didn't finish pooping in Noah's room is at the tile entry way. Clean that up and it floods the toilet. Ohhhh the joys, it has to get better from here right? Oh who I am I to think that I can manage to get my day back on track and still be on time for work.
Drop Noah off at school and barely avoid his whole class hearing him telling me quite loudly that the combined daycare teacher before his teacher gets there is really pretty mean and he doesn't like her. Thank God he started the sentence with "mommy, I need to tell you something" so I hadn't turned the door knob yet for the teacher to hear him announce this to the world.
Leave daycare headed to work and still somehow scheduled for an on time arrival and there is obviously a monster of a wreck on Riverwatch because traffic is backed up and totally not moving. Finally get turned around in that mess and am a good 25 minutes late for work the one day I was actually going to make it here on time.
Still not having gone back home to crawl under a rock and thinking it can't get much worse yet more unpleasantries greet me. A friend whose husband works 8 hours from home has found out that her 35 year old husband has had a heart attack. So he's having an angioplasty at 9:30 this morning and she won't be able to make it there before his procedure. Makes my crappy morning so totally irrelevant. So then I get to cry at my desk for being so consumed in my crappy morning when someone else has it so much worse. So if you're reading this please pray for my friend and her safe travels this morning and for the doctors who will be performing the procedure on him today. I cannot imagine the agony she has to be going through trying to make it there for her husband as he goes through such a traumatic thing alone at such a young age.
I would say this day has got to get better but I dare not curse it, so here's to tomorrow!

There are Seven Days in the Week
You know the old song from when you were a kid "There are 7 days, There are 7 days, There are 7 days in the week; Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday" Well that's what was going through my head this morning with Noah. He has his own names for every day of the week. In his mind Monday is the start of the week so this is how our days are labeled:
Monday - Computer Day
Tuesday - The day the girls take ballet
Wednesday - Its the middle of the week and the only day he doesn't have something to associate it with so he refers to it as "the day before Music Day which is the day before Share Day". (Yes, this is actually how he refers to it.)
Thursday - Music Day
Friday - Share Day
Saturday - Stay Home Day
Sunday - Church Day
Well today obviously is SHARE DAY!!!! Noah started thinking about what to take yesterday evening. Its the cutest process he gets all excited, starts thinking about what all his friends would like for him to bring and then decides he needs to sleep on it and pick a toy in the morning. As usual he picks something with lots of pieces and I tell him he has to pick something else. Today he was particularly disappointed with my answer because he wanted to take the Spongebob set his Erin gave him for Christmas to show his friends his bubble treasure. I am so lucky that my telling him no didn't result in a level 3 meltdown as we were home alone and already running terribly late. After much consideration, thinking, walking between his room, the living room, and the garage he finally settled on his bull dozer set. I just love watching the wheels in his little mind turn as he considers who will like what toys better. I think its so cute how concerned he gets about his friends liking what he takes.

Month 1 Week 1
Today is weigh day, was really hoping to have lost one more pound for an even 5 this week but I will happily take loosing 4 pounds.
My favorite new healthy recipe we tried this week:

We substituted the broccoli for zucchini.
My favorite new thing I learned this week is how to make 5 minute mashed potatoes. They were awesome!

Just to Get Things Started
Well I have had random thoughts of starting a blog for a while, but am not nearly as eloquent at writing as some of my friends so I've shied away from it. I also am not great at catchy or clever titles and some of my friends have really cool titles for their blogs. But have finally given in and decided that a lame title and less than perfect writing are better than not doing something I want to do at all.
So I started this 3 days ago and have yet to post. So I am convinced I will finish this original post that I will never be fully pleased with and post it as you have to start somewhere.
Right now I am all about goals, my biggest ones in no particular order are:
So I started this 3 days ago and have yet to post. So I am convinced I will finish this original post that I will never be fully pleased with and post it as you have to start somewhere.
Right now I am all about goals, my biggest ones in no particular order are:
- Loose 30 pounds before we leave for vacation on 9/2/11. Started on 3/1/11 so it gave me 6 full months. I am completely convinced I can do this, just need to keep the motivation flowing.
- Make a comforter for Noah's new bed.
- Completely spring clean my house and finish painting my kitchen. The kitchen painting project was started about 5 years ago. I really detest painting and now want to start all over.
- Clean out and organize the extra bedroom before the first part of May so that we can get rid of unwanted items at the neighborhood yardsale and I don't have to deal with Craiglist.
- Get it together in time to actually plant flowers in the yard this spring. Not to overexcite my mother this is purely based on my child's desperately wanting to do so. I have not yet found this infamous love for gardening that she and my aunt both say will eventually happen.
- Stop spending so much time thinking about all the things that I want to do and just do some of them. I have about a million crafty ideas and need to stop dreaming up more and just do them one at a time, then maybe I could actually have enough inventory to send to the consignment boutique I signed up for.
